Symptoms
- A dull ache or heavy feeling, often worse after standing
- Visible or palpable swollen veins
- One testicle smaller than the other
- Difficulty conceiving, in some men
How it works
Through a pinhole in the neck or groin vein, a thin tube is guided to the faulty vein, which is then blocked with small coils or a medicine. Blood finds its way through healthy veins.
Benefits
- No incision in the scrotum
- Usually day-care, under local anaesthesia
- Quick return to normal activity
Risks
